Get Involved! Data and Evaluation Experts are Invited to Help Ensure a Positive Future for our Region

Data and evaluation experts are invited to shape evaluation methods that will ensure that the investment into our region is having the impact we need to see for a positive, thriving future that enables opportunity equity and quality of life for everyone in the Gladstone Region.

Community members with data and evaluation interest, skills and expertise are invited to participate in an interactive workshop, to support the development of a place-based wellbeing evaluation framework.

The workshop will provide an introductory overview of the work of community to date in identifying relevant:

  • data to understand the current status and historical trends and impacts occurring on the Gladstone Region community and

  • measurement indicators to assess change, progress and outcomes

Participants of the workshop will be invited to contribute to shaping the Gladstone Region Wellbeing Measurement Framework by collaboratively developing the Key Evaluation Questions that will be used to measure how effective or successful we are being in shifting the dial for improved wellbeing in the region.

2023 Social Wellbeing Measurement Workshop

Contributions at the workshop will ensure we measure what matters.

Data and Evaluation Workshop Details:

When:   Thursday 5 September 2024

Time:     9:30am-12:30pm

Venue:  CQUniversity, Gladstone Marina Campus

In addition to the need to ensure that the significant investment into Gladstone as one of 10 demonstration communities of the Stronger Places, Stronger People initiative achieves its intended outcomes and meets community expectations, this work will assist in assessing whether the collective investment of all stakeholders into our community is making a difference where we want it to and is providing sufficient social return on investment.

Measuring the ‘How’

Currently participating community members come together annually to assess the effectiveness of the collective impact methodology (the ‘how’) being applied in this community-led and place-based effort to addressing local needs and creating positive social change.

Measuring The ‘What’

As community are now implementing improvement projects, the key evaluation questions developed as a result of this workshop will enable extension of the evaluation cycle to include measurement of the ‘what’, measuring the outcomes of the work community are doing through improvement projects included in the community-designed Gladstone Region Wellbeing Action Plan.

Workshop discussion will also help inform the need for and design of a Data and Evaluation Working Group to interpret and analyse data identified as indicators within the framework, to help track progress towards improved wellbeing. Please note that attending the workshop does imply ongoing commitment to a working group.
